NAVRANG- THE THEATRE SOCIETY OF IHE
| SYNOPSIS :
Middle Class, also known as the sandwich class, is ignored to the extent that they themselves start to doubt their own worth. The play focuses on the problems of middle class, their causes and their impact.
The first part shows how middle class tends to create problems for themselves. They are always compromising on small needs and wants but somehow, always end up spending a lot more than they have. They are always under the pressure of doing or avoiding certain things just because of their deceptive ‘STATUS’. They wouldn’t do anything that would let down their names and just because of this show-off, they tend to suffer a lot of problems in their professional as well as their personal lives.
Apparently, the cause of these problems is our system which supports the poor and rich but middle class are left to tackle their problems on their own. It is the only class that is the most affected by taxation, budget, education system, medical systems, politics, subsidies and policies.
‘Middle class is not an issue, but there are issues with being a middle class.’
The only way a middle class can deal with these issues is through hard work, determination and optimism. A middle class person has to understand that only he has the power to change his destiny by working towards success.
